Adelphi Manufacturing was founded in 1947 and took its name from the Adelphi Building off The Strand where it had its offices. The company produced simple bottle washing and filling equipment for the pharmaceutical industry and in 1950 moved to The Angel, Islington, where the Group occupied two buildings and 5 floors of a Georgian terrace. Steady progress, with an increase in the range of products manufactured and sold, culminated in a major expansion in the early 1970's.
Adelphi Tubes was formed in 1970 to stock and market ampoules, vials and collapsible aluminium tubes, and in 1973 Fluid Equipment company Ltd was purchased. The name was changed to Fluid Equipment (Adelphi) Ltd. and it was maintained as a separate company manufacturing mixers and stirrers for industry. In 1978 Adelphi purchased the filling machine business of T.R.F. Autoclaves, and part of Sheppard Engineers Limited. All these companies had manufactured products which Adelphi marketed, but now they were manufactured and marketed by Adelphi.
Adelphi Coldstream was originally founded in 1947 in Peckham near Tower Bridge, London and later moved to Dulwich, South East London. The company Joined the Adelphi Group in 1994 and adsorbed the activities of Fluid Equipment (Adelphi) Ltd. in 2004.
During 1984 the opportunity arose to sell our London offices and with ever escalating costs in one of London's most expensive boroughs the decision was made to move out in order to consolidate the Group and to allow for further expansion. Adelphi moved to Sussex in October 1984.
